Botanical Garden in May

It's been a while since I've last shared with you our nature class walks.
Back in May, when lotuses were in full bloom we went once again to the Botanical Garden. No matter how many times you visit the Taipei Botanical Garden there are always new things to see and admire.
This time the famous Lotus Pond was a real pleasure to look at, so many beautiful lotus flowers.

Many young birds were hiding among the lotuses.

Common gallinule - Gallinula chloropus
黑水雞 - Kurka wodna

There were birds on trees as well ...

Black-crowned night heron - Nycticorax nycticorax
夜鷺 - Ślepowron zwyczajny

Mallard - Anas platyrhynchos
綠頭鴨 - Kaczka krzyżówka

Japanese white-eye - Zosterops japonicus
青笛仔 - Szlarnik japoński

This small bird was just feeding it's chicks. That's when I wish I have a better camera ...

In the pond there were also some algae eating fish (glonojady):

That's it for now. In the next post I will show you other plants we've admired during our May walk in the Botanical Garden.
