Babel School in Taiwan

Tak jakoś się złożyło, że ponad rok temu, a dokładniej na początku stycznia 2017 roku Jaś i Ania mieli okazję zagrać jako statyści w filmie holenderskiego reżysera Davida Verbeek'a. Film The Impossibly Small Object 小玩意  dopiero w tym roku wszedł na ekrany kin. Niestety jak do tej pory nie udało nam się go zobaczyć, więc nawet nie wiem ile scen z Jaśkiem i Anią zostało włączonych do filmu. Może wszystkie zostały wycięte?

Zosia poza uczeniem jazdy na nartach i na snowboardzie, zajmuje się również filmowaniem i edytowaniem krótkich filmików instruktażowych.  Często narzeka, że nie ma czasu by coś porządnie nagrać w ciągu dnia, bo musi wtedy uczyć. Tak więc ostatni jej filmik był nagrywany wieczorową porą. Zobaczcie jak to wyszło:

Kilka miesięcy temu Zosia spędziła dwa dni na planie filmu promującego miasto Keelong 基隆 na północnym wybrzeżu Tajwanu. Studio filmowe zwróciło się bezpośrednio do Zosi z propozycją wzięcia udziału w tym filmiku. Po zapoznaniu się ze skryptem Zosia zgodziła się w nim wystąpić. Producentowi bardzo zależało na tym by akurat Zosia zagrała główną rolą dziewczęcą w tym filmie, czekali więc z filmowaniem aż Zosia wróci z nart w Nowej Zelandii.  Zosia zagrała rolę młodej polskiej studentki odwiedzającej Tajwan. Zobaczcie zresztą sami: I druga część: Co sądziecie o Zosi aktorce? ;-) (Zaznaczam, że błędy w języku angielskim nie są jej autorstwa :-) Taki miała skrypt.)

W końcu! W końcu nie tylko Zosia ma swoje 5 czy też 15 minut sławy, ale Jasiek również. Po ponad 10 latach udało Mu się ponownie wystąpić w reklamie i to nie byle jakiej ... Sami zobaczcie: W tej reklamie było wszystko (no prawie wszystko) co Jasia interesuje i co kocha - samoloty, gra komputerowa, uniform pilota fighter jet. Jaś byl po prostu wziebowzięty w czasie filmowania. A nie była to łatwa praca, bo pomimo klimatyzacji w hangarze było dość gorąco. Praca trwała cały dzień. Jasiek jednak dał sobie świetnie radę. Stanął na wysokości zadania i pokazał, że też potrafi! A jak dostał tę pracę? Poszedł na casting, o którym Tim przeczytał na Facebook'u. No i udało Mu się! Jestem z Niego naprawdę dumna.

Pewnie nie wiecie, że istnieje coś takiego jak (wirtualny) Klub Polek na Obczyźnie. Zrzesza on mnóstwo babek (i jednego chłopa) z całego świata. Wszystkie dziewczyny (i chłopaka) łączą dwie rzeczy - mieszkają (lub mieszkali) poza granicami Polski i piszą blogi. Chociaż nigdy w więcej niż 3-4 nie spotkałyśmy się w realu, to z wieloma zawarłyśmy przyjaźnie wirtualne.  Główny blog Klubu znajdziecie pod KLUB POLKI NA OBCZYŹNIE . Można stamtąd dowiedzieć się wielu ciekawych rzeczy o krajach, w których mieszkamy, poznać ich tradycje i święta, a także poczytać o inicjatywach podejmowanych wspólnie przez członkinie Klubu (a jest tego trochę!). Jedną z ostatnich wspólnych zabaw było zrobienie filmiku ... o nas samych, czyli o Polkach (i Polaku) za granicą. Zapraszam do obejrzenia!  Specjalną uwagę zwróćcie na kobitę w 1:26 i 4:13 minucie :-) Może rozpoznacie w niej mnie?

Do niedawna nie miałam pojęcia o tym kim jest pan Zbigniew Stanisławski. Nie ma go w polskiej Wikipedii, na stronie Filmweb tyle co nic o nim. Trochę więcej jest po angielsku na IMDb . Na pewno dalej bym nie wiedziała kto to taki, gdyby nie dziewczyny (i chłopak) z Klubu Polki na Obczyźnie. Tak się jakoś złożyło, że któraś z dziewczyn wpadła na pomysł przesyłania sobie laleczki pomiędzy wszystkimi chętnymi zrzeszonymi w Klubie. Z kolei inna z dziewczyn, w mniej więcej tym samym czasie, natknęła się na felieton o panu Zbigniewie Stanisławskim, polskim animatorze, reżyserze, scenografie filmów animowanych. Oto link do tego krótkiego i przejmującego felietonu (proszę przygotować sobie chusteczki na otarcie łez): I tak się zaczęło.  Dalej wydarzenia potoczyły się niezmiernie szybko. Magda Fou - założycielka Klubu Polek, szybciutko wydziergała na szydełku dwóch wspaniałych chłopaków - Bolka i Lolka. Bolek i Lolek by MFouDesign Dziewczyny i chłopak równie szybciutko ...

Two people in our family celebrate birthdays in March. In the beginning of the month was my birthday (you can read about it here ) and yesterday my husband's. Few days earlier Jaś started looking through all the cookbooks trying to decide which birthday cake to make. He couldn't find anything that I would agree for him to make (he was thinking of some fancy cakes, which we did not have ingredients for nor the time to make). At the end he made a sponge cake with a chocolate cream-cheese filling and chocolate butter cream frosting. It turned out really yummy! Zosia specialises in film-making, so the only thing she can think of is ... another film. Here is her present for the dad: And Ania made a card. :-)

More and more often people ask Zosia and us, the parents, where is she going to go to college.We've heard this question from our friends and family, from those who we've just met and those who have known us for a while, reporters and teachers also want to know the answer. Most people assume that since I am a foreigner in Taiwan and Zosia is fluent in English and Polish we are going to send her abroad to study. To tell you the truth, I don't understand this connection. First one needs to ask children weather they want to go to university at all. One needs to find out what are their interests and how can they deepen their knowledge in the area they are interested in. Is it possible for them to audit classes at a local university? Can they observe and experience the kind of work that they are interested in? Is it possible to sign up for on-line courses? Nowadays it doesn't really matter where you are, you can take courses from the most prestigious universities taught ...

Only in Taiwan (and maybe other small countries) can normal kids get a chance to appear on TV. I know that some of you may say that my kids have been on TV quite often and their faces are recognisable, but when they started their TV adventure they were ... just a couple of young homeschooled children, without any experience in front of the camera. How did it all start? Few years ago, when Zosia was 9 and Jas 4 years old we met by chance the Public TV team filming a popular children's program 下課花路米 Follow me, go! . Tim talked for a few minutes to the director and gave him his contact number. Few days later TV called back asking some more questions about our homeschooling adventure. And that's how it all started ... Later there were interviews, more interviews, never ending interviews ... Two and a half years ago kids were asked to take part in another Public TV children's program: In the beginning of 2012, after Zosia and her friends made a short documen...

Zosia sharing her experience at the camp. During summer Zosia participated in a few summer camps organized by Fubong Culture and Education Foundation 富邦文教基金會. For one of the camps she went to Orchid Island 蘭嶼 off the south eastern coast of Taiwan to learn about the aboriginal way of life. At the end of the camp kids had to make a short film presentation about what they have learned. Another camp was in Tainan, where she explored the newly opened National Museum of Taiwan History 國立台灣歷史博物館 . During this camp she not only learned history of Taiwan, but also made a short feature film about one event from the history using the photos taken inside the museum. All the hours at Taipei Arena have paid off - Zosia won the GOLD medal at the Skate Asia 2011 held in August in Bangkok, Thailand. We are very proud of her. Her performance was really beautiful and graceful. See for yourself:
