Presentation about the Universe

Ania has been working on this project for quite some time. She first read lots and lots of books about the Universe, Solar System and Space Exploration. Then when she already learned a lot, she wanted to gather all the information in one place and make a Space Project. She couldn't decide what form her project should take - should it be another lapbook, a poster, a booklet. I suggested a new form - a slide presentation that she could show to our relatives in Poland and that her older siblings, who are in the USA now, could also see. She was very excited about this idea. But ... she also wanted a paper version of the presentation so she could easily go back to it whenever she wanted. At the end we settled with slides (without pictures) that I would print out and she would put in a big notebook. After printing the slides, she would look for illustrations for her presentation. All the text and most of the formatting was done by Ania herself. Some if the information she wrote herself, ...

O rybach - Fish project

Last month Ania made a quick and easy project about fishes, all kinds of fishes - small and big ones, ones that live in oceans and seas as well as those from rivers and lakes, even fish that don't look like fish. She took the pictures (stickers) of fish from and old a sticker book. She also read the information about the fish in that book.

Wredni rodzice nie dali synowi kieszonkowego

Cztery lata temu Jasiowi wpadł do głowy pomysł by samemu zbudować komputer. Na początku nie traktowałam tego pomysłu zbyt serio, bo w końcu miał wtedy tylko 12 lat. Chciał mieć szybki komputer z dobrą kartą graficzną, by móc grać. To również mi się nie podobało.

Life cycle of a butterfly game

Few weeks ago I asked Jaś to make a game on Scratch for Ania. It was supposed to be a game about the life cycle of a butterfly. It took Jaś many hours over a few weekends to create this game, but I am really happy with the result.  Go ahead and try it yourself! To start click on the green flag and press space-bar. First you need to find a right leaf, then the right egg and when the caterpillar emerges from that egg, it has to start eating and eating and eating. Eating makes the caterpillar grow bigger and bigger. When it's large enough it will turn into a cocoon and then into a butterfly.  To play again click on the red "stop" sign and press space-bar.
