December in Babel School

December is always a month of Christmas preparations and Holiday celebrations. Not much "schooling" with books, pen and paper is done. December is the time to spend with family. Last Christmas was really a family time as even Zosia joined us at the beginning if the month.

Before the Christmas preparations started Ania had an "exam" for the scouting badges. I wrote about it extensively in Polish in my last post HERE. The whole experience still makes me feel somewhat mad and disappointed. To receive scouting badges children need to pass exams!

Preparations for the Holiday season started with cleaning the house and making a few Christmas cards.

Before Zosia finished her two weeks of quarantine, there was an annual Christmas party for Polish people in Taiwan. I wrote more about it in Polish HERE.
The closer it got to Christmas the more work in the kitchen had to be done - making and decorating gingerbread cookies, baking cakes, making pierogi.
Christmas was wonderful time spent both with family and friends. On Christmas Eve we went to church for Midnight Mass and on 26th we had a Polish mass at Fujen University.
During Holidays there was also time to play a few board games and read some books.
The last day of the year brought a change to Ania's looks:
I am very grateful for last Holiday season. It was really wonderful to have the whole family together. Hopefully we can repeat that next Christmas.
