Who loves books?
I certainly do.

Who thinks that books should be cheaper?
Well ... I do.

Who would like to buy books in English when living in an Asian country?
I certainly would!

Few weeks ago a very special book fair took place in Taiwan - the Malaysian Big Bad Wolf Books fair came to New Taipei City between August 17th and 27th.

Why was this book fair so special?
For a few reasons:

  • it came all the way from Malaysia
  • all the books were discounted, even by 90% of the original price
  • the books were in English (which a treat when you live in a non-English speaking country)
  • there were books for children, teenagers and adults
  • there were books of all kinds - novels, manuals, cookbooks, albums, coffee table books, picture books, workbooks ... anything you can imagine
  • it was open 24h a day for 10 days!

I went to the fair late in the evening one day and didn't leave until almost midnight. I would have stayed longer, but there was a danger of buying even more books for which I don't have any more bookshelf space at home.

Even at a very late hour there were still many people at the fair. And many children too.

What did we buy?
Books for Ania included a series of Paddington Bear stories, some "Nancy Clancy" books and a few others. I also managed to get the last copy of the 3rd grade workbook and some sticker books for her.

Here are a few books I got for myself:

I hope the Big Bad Wolf Books will be coming to Taiwan more often. It's a great way to update our home library.
