It's first time for us to ski in Naeba. We used to go
to Myoko 妙高 year after year, but since Zosia started working as a ski
instructor we had to change our skiing tradition.
Anyway,
things are looking pretty well here. We have a small condo which is
nice, warm and clean. There is also a natural onsen few floors down. It's a 5 minutes
bus ride to the slopes (it took us 40 minutes to walk there and 20 to
get back, walking in ski boots with heavy skis on the shoulder is not
fun). Fortunately I figured out how the free bus works and now we can
save the energy for skiing instead of hiking.
Kids
are quite busy here. They leave home at 8:00 and don't come back until 10 or even 11 in the evening. Zosia is teaching skiing every day and in
the evenings she is training other instructors (who are much older, and are all snowboarders). Last week Jaś has spent most of the days in the rental shop repairing and waxing snowboards.
Last Monday Tim joined us, so right now the whole family is back together. With Tim to help me with Ania on the slope, we were able to venture further and exploer other side of the mountain, Kagura. On the other side the runs are much longer and there are less people. The snow conditions are great!
